2008 Spring Break Trip:
Location:
Albany, GA

This was UMass Habitat for Humanity’s first Spring Break trip. We took 21 amazing people to work on 3 houses in Albany, GA which were in various stages of construction.

General Information:
Cost: Hopefully below $100 per person, at most in the past it has been $150 per person
Travel: Vans
Schedule: Historically is has been traveling on the weekends, working Mon-Fri with one half day.
Here is the list of items you should bring on your epic trip:
-Duffle bag
-Backpack
-Sleeping bag (although you can bring sheets if you want, its possible we will
have bunks where we stay. However I highly recommend you bring a sleeping bag in
case we have to sleep elsewhere).
-Pillow
-hat or visor
-bandanna
-jeans and shirts you wont mind getting dirty (I’m talking paint dirty)
-sleepwear
-a towel
-first aid
-sunglasses
-sunblock
-bug spray
-any kind of prescription medicine
-bottle for water
-jacket/rain gear
-swimsuit
-soap/shampoo/toiletries
-SHOWER SANDALS!!
-work boots/sneakers
-a few nice clothing items in case we go out
-camera
-cards/games/sudoku, anything
-spending money (about 50-100 is ideal)
-PACK LIGHTLY!! This is important because we need to stuff all of our belongings
into the vans.
-You do not need to bring any tools or construction paraphernalia. They will all
be provided at the work site.
-Breakfast and Lunch will be provided for the week.
-Some dinners may be provided but some we will have to buy for ourselves (like
going out, Chick Filet, mmmmmmmm). We will buy our own meals on the way down and back.
